"We will turn over every stone": Itamar Ben Gvir's promise to the father of the missing child
In a conversation with the Minister of National Security, Danny Kogan described the critical minutes when he lost sight of his son on the beach. The father asked to examine leads beyond the immediate search area. The minister promised to involve the head of the Shin Bet in the investigation.
Danny Kogan, the father of the missing 4-year-old boy Yuval, spoke on Friday with the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, and described the moments when he lost contact with his son.
"I told him to look around a bit, and he was indeed here. Over my shoulder, I saw it. After five minutes, when I was trying to calm the girls down, I lost him. I immediately ran there, I ran north, I ran a bit southeast, and thousands of people passed by here," the father recounted.
He expressed his bewilderment at how so many people could have passed through the area without noticing the child.
Itamar Ben Gvir promised the father that the police would investigate every lead:
"I didn't come here for nothing. I am making every effort; there is a clear message that they are working hard to find the child. From here, I am heading to meet with the head of the Shin Bet, and I promise that the police will turn over every stone to reach him."
Earlier on Friday, Yuval's mother, Dina, appealed to the police to investigate the possibility that her son was kidnapped. She noted that 4-year-old Yuval was afraid of the water, suggesting that focusing searches solely on the beach might be insufficient. She demanded that the Shin Bet be involved to examine the possibility of foul play.
Numerous teams from United Hatzalah, the national drone unit, off-road vehicles, the motorcycle unit, and foot patrols of the Israel Police have been participating in the search throughout the night and continue their efforts.
Yuval Kogan has been missing since Thursday afternoon, when he was last seen in the area of Hofit beach in Ashkelon. His description: thin build, brown hair, and he was wearing a green shirt at the time of his disappearance.
