Real Madrid manager José Mourinho addressed the press on Saturday ahead of his side's away fixture against Racing Santander, discussing the aftermath of the El Clásico victory, Trent Alexander-Arnold's squad status, and Harry Kane winning the Ballon d'Or.

Speaking about the mood within the squad following the win over Barcelona, Mourinho emphasized maturity and balance. "Since the beginning of the season, I have always seen the same attitude from the players. Of course, there is more joy when you win, but the foundation does not change. We are a very balanced team. We don't have a lot of experience, but I see maturity. The players are calm, patient, and know how to wait for the right moment. Our goal is to win titles, not just to beat Barcelona in a single match," the Portuguese coach stated.

Mourinho also reflected on his evolving approach to management and external criticism. "I have become more balanced. It no longer matters to me what is said about me. Criticism and praise do not affect me. The players are the ones who won in Barcelona. If I leave a match feeling that I helped them, I am happy. I am not an inherently defensive or attacking coach, braver or less brave. If I am a defensive coach with 100 points and so many goals, then so be it. I am very calm."

Addressing the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has seen limited playing time recently, Mourinho admitted the situation is far from ideal but insisted decisions serve the collective interest. "It hurts me. I don't like making players feel bad, but sometimes tactical adjustments are necessary. Trent and Denzel Dumfries received an explanation that this is a professional decision for the good of the team, not against them. Ultimately, everyone will play, and I do not expect players to ask to leave in January."

Looking ahead to the match at El Sardinero, where Real Madrid last played a league fixture in September 2011 resulting in a goalless draw under Mourinho, the manager noted the challenge. "We are in a good position, but we face a team that collects many points at home and plays at an unusual hour. We must respect Racing after last week's victory."

Finally, Mourinho congratulated Harry Kane on claiming the Ballon d'Or. "I had the privilege of working with Harry. He is a great player, a wonderful professional, and a great person. Although I am disappointed that my own player did not win, I am happy for Kane. He deserves it. On the other hand, Jude Bellingham finishing 11th in the voting left me speechless."
