Mourinho builds Galacticos: Real Madrid submitted an offer for Diomande

For many weeks, it seemed that Paris Saint-Germain was the almost exclusive candidate to acquire Yann Diomande, but now Real Madrid has joined the race and become its main rival. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blancos submitted an initial offer to RB Leipzig of 90 million euros plus 10 million in bonuses, but it was rejected.
Paris Saint-Germain is still interested in the Ivory Coast international, and until now, Diomande had preferred a move to the European champions. However, the French club has not yet expressed a willingness to offer a sum that would convince Leipzig to sell him this summer. According to The Athletic, Real Madrid's entry into the race has changed the situation and created additional competition for his signature.
It was reported in The Athletic as early as June 24 that Real is looking for an attacking player capable of operating on the right flank in case Brahim Diaz leaves this summer. The Morocco international wants to remain in the Spanish capital, and both the club and the coaching staff led by Jose Mourinho value him, but Real is working in parallel to advance a deal for Diomande.
As a reminder, Liverpool also approached the club in an attempt to acquire him earlier this summer. According to reports, the value of the English offer approached 100 million euros, while the German club demanded a sum closer to 130 million euros.
In parallel, Leipzig is trying to extend Diomande's contract, which runs until the summer of 2030, and remains hopeful that he will stay at the club even after the transfer window closes.
"Our clear intention is for Yann Diomande to play for RB Leipzig next season," said the club's sporting director, Marcel Schafer.
However, Bild reported that Diomande has deleted most of the posts related to Leipzig from his Instagram account. Of the 32 posts remaining on his profile, only four are related to the German club. According to the same report, there are fewer and fewer people in Leipzig who believe the player will remain with the team, despite the club's interest in extending his contract and keeping him for at least another season.
Diomande participated in all four of Ivory Coast's matches at the World Cup and helped them reach the round of 32, where they were eliminated by Norway. Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in 33 Bundesliga matches, helping Leipzig finish in third place and qualify for the Champions League.
