New Haredi Party Challenges Status Quo with Free Market Platform
Moti Leitner's Haredi Public Party challenges traditional ultra-Orthodox politics by featuring academic women and advocating for free-market reforms over state allowances.
Moti Leitner and the Haredi Public Party are introducing an approach that challenges existing factions within the ultra-Orthodox sector. For the first time in a party representing this public, two women with advanced academic degrees have been placed on the list.
On Thursday evening, Leitner tweeted his social platform, presenting positions that particularly challenge veteran Haredi politicians. "Our stance is that allowances and exclusive reliance on government budgets institutionalize poverty," Leitner tweeted. "Competition and a free market generate growth and freedom. The Haredi public, just like any other public in the country, does not need government philanthropy; quite the opposite. It is harmful to it."
"Our public is crying out for the provision of relevant tools and skills for the labor market, the encouragement of entrepreneurship, and the reduction of barriers. This is possible, and we will do it."
