Judicial Ombudsman Again Criticizes Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit

The Ombudsman for Judges, retired judge Asher Kula, has once again criticized Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit regarding the conduct of a Supreme Court panel during a hearing on the Second Authority Council. According to Kula, Amit and Justices Alex Stein and Gila Canfi-Steinitz infringed upon the right to argument of Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, thereby violating the "rules of natural justice." Despite this, the ombudsman decided against reprimanding the judges because Karhi's position was ultimately heard by the court. This decision follows a series of past criticisms by Kula against Amit, including a justified complaint regarding the "directors' roster" affair and strict remarks over judicial rulings issued during Shabbat.
