Bereaved Mother Confronts Former Aman Chief Aharon Haliva in Park

Shelly Meshel-Yogev, whose daughter Libi Cohen-Maguri was murdered in the October 7 massacre, confronted former Military Intelligence (Aman) chief Maj. Gen. (res.) Aharon Haliva during a run at a park. In a video shared on social media, Meshel-Yogev is heard condemning Haliva for his failure during the Hamas terror attack.
"You live a kilometer from our house and you didn't arrive. You know her father and you didn't arrive. Do not lie," Meshel-Yogev told Haliva in the footage. She added: "Where are you? Where were you? My daughter is buried because of you! You should feel humiliated and bear responsibility, not breathe and say 'I want to come to you, I want to cry with you because I'm suffering too.' You need to say you're suffering like me! Don't you understand that?"
Meshel-Yogev also contrasted Haliva's actions with those of former IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, noting that Halevi called her to express condolences and ask to visit. Since the October 7 tragedy, Meshel-Yogev has been leading a public campaign demanding accountability from former senior defense officials.
Libi Cohen-Maguri, a 22-year-old from Tel Aviv, served as an operations officer and sergeant in the Southern Command. On the morning of October 7, she attempted to flee the Nova music festival, but was blocked on Route 232. During her final phone call with her mother at 08:11, she reported that she had been shot and that those around her were killed. She was murdered shortly thereafter.
