If the last time bothered you, you are soon going to see him a lot in the Knesset: Mordechai David, a right-wing activist, internet personality, and head of the "Brothers for Justice" organization, is expected to take part in Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's campaign and serve in a paid position at the youth headquarters of the "Otzma Yehudit" party.
From street provocations to the headquarters: David is known to the public for provocative protest actions, including blocking vehicles and harassing public figures, judges, and journalists identified with the center-left, including former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak, former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, and correspondent Guy Peleg.
David, who has a history of several criminal convictions (including arson of a bus and trespassing into a crocodile enclosure at the safari park), constantly stirs public controversy both because of his methods of operation and because of the backing and political closeness he receives from a group of right-wing politicians, led by Minister Ben Gvir.
The new appointments and the man behind the move: according to the report in "HaTzinor", David is not the only one joining the staff for pay. Alongside him, Victor Shiriki, who previously ran for the youth slot in Likud and was not elected, and right-wing activist Ziv Barnes were also appointed to paid positions at the party headquarters.
The person behind the appointment process is Eliran Dahan, a lawyer identified with the right, who has become a close associate of Ben Gvir and is currently among his innermost circle of advisors ahead of the upcoming elections.
