After serving a suspension in the Europa League qualifying playoffs, following a red card received during a loss to Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Mohammad Abu Fani returned to the Red Star Belgrade lineup. The midfielder played 90 minutes and assisted the second goal in a 4-0 home victory over Cukaricki.

The Israel national team player launched a counterattack for Christian Balov, who overcame a defender and scored in the 47th minute. Substitute Anstis Mitiu scored on a counterattack in the 72nd minute, and towards the end, he was fouled by Eliasi in the box. Andrija Zivkovic, who assisted the first two goals, sealed the result in the 89th minute.
