Trabzonspor star Mohamed Salah is reportedly set to receive Turkish citizenship alongside his wife and three children, accompanied by a prestigious state medal recognizing his exceptional impact on Turkish sports and tourism. According to reports circulating on Tuesday based on statements by Egyptian BBC journalist Mohamed El-Kaoud, the 34-year-old forward is expected to be honored in a grand ceremony.

El-Kaoud stated that the Egyptian star, who moved to Trabzonspor last summer after a legendary career at Liverpool, has drastically boosted both sports and tourism in the region. Trabzonspor management has reportedly informed Salah that a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may soon take place, though no official date has been set yet.

Stellar Impact on and off the Pitch

Since arriving in August, Salah has proven to be a massive attraction in Turkish football, netting 10 goals and providing 5 assists in 14 appearances across all competitions to propel his club to the top of the league. Beyond his athletic achievements, his presence has triggered millions of new social media followers for the club and even led to the launch of direct flights between Cairo and Trabzon.

Reflecting on the blockbuster signing, Trabzonspor Vice President Taner Fikret Saral noted:

«The transfer process was handled with utmost care and secrecy by our president and management. Salah choosing Trabzonspor is profound proof of our club's greatness and ambitions.»

Management expressed extreme satisfaction with both his on-field contributions and the immense overall value he brings to the institution.
