Singer and actress Miri Aloni sat down for an interview with Maariv, reflecting on her long career and revealing candid financial confessions from her life.

Aloni shared that her biggest mistake was failing to sign a contract with the CBS record label when she was discharged from the Nahal Band.

"I was a young girl then who didn't understand anything about the profession, and I regret that mistake to this day, because I didn't leave enough recorded songs," she explains.

Even during her military service, financial considerations played a central role in her decisions. When she was asked to sign on for a year of permanent service in the Nahal Band, the deciding factor was the army's offer to promote her from corporal to sergeant.

"It raised the salary. Ranks never interested me, of course, it was purely a financial matter," she admits.

As is well known, in the early 2000s, Aloni began holding street performances at Magen David Square on Nahalat Binyamin Street in Tel Aviv, every Tuesday and Friday. The performance, which became a well-known institution and lasted for 21 years, provided her with a regular routine and direct contact with her audience.

A significant change in her situation occurred in September 2021, when her right leg was amputated following a severe infection. Due to her health condition and the need to use a wheelchair, she was forced to stop her street performances.

Today, Aloni lives in an apartment provided by the Mishan company in an assisted living facility in Ramat Efal, from where she continues to work and venture out for performances and acting projects.
