Police were called to the building following reports that Johnson had shot and wounded a woman. Earlier, building owners had attempted to evict Johnson, who had threatened neighbors and warned of a shooting rampage. Continuing his attack inside the building, Johnson shot two workers before heading to the ninth floor, where he fatally shot two residents.
Frightened tenants called the police, who entered the building to clear the premises. Footage shows armed officers scanning the corridors before Johnson ambushed them, wounding two officers before law enforcement neutralized the gunman.
