The national lottery corporation, Mifal HaPayis, has officially opened the call for nominations for the prestigious 2027 Landau Arts and Sciences Prizes, offering a total of nine substantial grants. Eight distinguished artists, scientists, and researchers will be recognized for their exceptional contributions, alongside a special award dedicated entirely to social impact.

Each of the nine laureates will receive a financial grant of 150,000 shekels in recognition of their achievements. This year, the special award has been designated for a non-profit organization that champions the inclusion of individuals with disabilities and special needs within Israeli society, promoting equal opportunities and full community participation.

The remaining eight prizes span across four distinct fields in the arts and four in the sciences, honoring figures who have driven significant advancements in Israel and globally. Mifal HaPayis Chairman Itzik Larry emphasized the enduring commitment to fostering excellence during challenging times.

«During this challenging period, it is vital to continue highlighting Israeli excellence, innovation, and creativity, which also gain international recognition.»
