Just two days after officially finalizing one of the most high-profile and tense chapters in Israeli entertainment by receiving her formal get from Shuli Rand, Michal Rand sat down for a revealing interview on the TMI podcast with Miki Levin.
Alongside the sense of relief regarding the conclusion of her legal saga, Rand shared surprising revelations about the unexpected relationship that blossomed between her and Shuli's current partner, Tsofit Grant. Grant, once viewed as a fierce rival, recently stepped in to manage Michal's logistical and financial affairs.
A Surprising Alliance
During the interview, Rand described how Grant became the primary driving force pushing the divorce forward, while providing her with extensive emotional and practical support. "For months we texted on WhatsApp, argued, blocked each other, reconnected, and talked," Rand recalled, recounting the winding path until the turning point: "One day she calls and says, 'Michal, I bought you new furniture for the entire house.'"
Beyond furnishing her home, Rand revealed that Grant arranged a car for her and even stepped into the role of her accountant, given that Michal does not have an active bank account. "I discovered an amazing and good-hearted woman; she simply manages my affairs with incredible efficiency," Rand praised. She even expressed support for the couple's relationship, adding, "I am glad he has an assertive woman who is totally devoted to him. That is exactly what he needs."
Relief and Closure at the Rabbinate
Reflecting on the final divorce proceedings at the rabbinical court, Rand described a complex mix of relief and sorrow. "There is a huge sense of relief that the story is finally over. The day after they gave me the money, I went into the rabbinate and got divorced. I walked out of there liberated," she said.
"In the ceremony itself, we looked each other in the eye for the first time since the struggle began. I smiled at him; it was sad, but necessary. It feels like a failure. I went home and cried," Rand shared.
She concluded with striking candor: "I loved him; he is the father of my children. But it ended long, long before we separated, and today I no longer love her—I mean him."
Looking Forward to the Future
Now, looking ahead, Rand emphasized that as far as she is concerned, "I am moving forward from here in peace and comfort." Regarding a potential name change, she noted that "some of the children want me to stay Rand, so maybe I'll be Michal Danino Rand," and signed off with a message of reconciliation: "If we managed to make peace between us, anyone can."
