Murder of a barber in Tamra: 3 suspects arrested
Three residents of Tamra have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of barber Yasser Abu al-Hijja and the serious wounding of another person at a local barbershop. Police concluded a covert investigation, and the case has now moved to an overt phase.
Three residents of Tamra were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of barber Yasser Abu al-Hijja and the serious wounding of another person at a barbershop in the city, the police stated today, Wednesday. The arrests were made following a covert investigation by the Central Unit (Yamar) of the Northern District, and the investigation has now become overt.
The shooting incident occurred on July 7, in the afternoon. As a result of the attack on the barbershop, 34-year-old Abu al-Hijja was critically wounded and pronounced dead shortly thereafter, while another person sustained serious injuries. The investigation was assigned to the Central Unit of the Northern District under the direction of District Commander, Nitzav Meir Eliyahu.
The suspects are residents of the city aged 17, 19, and 50. Police noted that numerous pieces of evidence were seized during the investigation, and based on these findings, the court extended the detention of the three individuals.
