Bronze medal for Shahar Milfelder and Saleh Shahin at the World Para Rowing Championships

The medalists from the Paris Paralympic Games took third place on the podium in the 2,000-meter rowing event with a time of 8:14.46 minutes.

The Paralympic rowing pair, Shahar Milfelder and Saleh Shahin, who won a bronze medal at the Paris Games and also at the European Championships held in July of this year, repeated the achievement this evening, finishing the 2,000-meter course in third place with a time of 8:14.46 minutes. The German pair took first place (8:08.26) and the Chinese pair took second (8:09.24).

Shahar was diagnosed with bone cancer at age 15 and fully recovered, but not before undergoing a series of surgeries during which part of her pelvis was removed. Saleh, a Druze and an IDF disabled veteran, was severely wounded in his legs during a terrorist attack at the Karni crossing, where he worked as a security guard after his military service as a combat soldier.

This morning, Shmulik Daniel, a single-scull rower, qualified for the semifinals of the World Rowing Championships after finishing the 2,000-meter course in second place with a time of 10:22.86 minutes. Coaches - Dima Margolin and Sergey Bukrib.
