Model and influencer Maya Wertheimer shared on her Instagram account a glimpse of an especially touching moment she discovered while packing — a personal letter sent in 2015 to her late father, industrialist Eitan Wertheimer, from the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, billionaire Warren Buffett.

The letter, sent on May 6, 2015, on the company's official letterhead, opens with a warm thank you from Buffett for a photo album he received from Wertheimer. Buffett noted that the photos managed to bring back "hundreds of memories" for him, and added with humor that he retracts all the jokes he made in the past about Wertheimer's fondness for photographing every moment.

"Tonight I will go through the whole book with Astrid and tell her the stories that filled it," the American billionaire shared and signed: "Eitan, you are a wonderful friend (and an expert photographer)".

The emotional Wertheimer added her own warm words to the photo: "It just reminds me that even the busiest people in the world find time for friends, to read, to take pictures, and to laugh. Because if you don't enjoy the journey - what is the goal worth?".

The close and personal connection between the two was built around one of the most famous giant deals in the history of the Israeli economy. Eitan Wertheimer, who passed away in 2022, managed and developed alongside his father, Stef Wertheimer, the IMC group (the parent company of "Iscar").

The group was sold in two stages to Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway - 80% of the shares were sold in 2006 for 4 billion dollars, and the remaining 20% were sold in 2013 for an additional 2.05 billion dollars.

The combined wealth of Wertheimer and his family was estimated at more than 6 billion dollars (about 23 billion shekels), and included income-producing real estate assets, private planes, yachts, and a collection of about 220 antique cars.

Warren Buffett, known as the "Oracle of Omaha", was once the richest person in the world, and built his vast fortune on a "Value Investing" strategy over time. Alongside his exceptional business success, Buffett is known worldwide for his modest lifestyle and his commitment to donating over 99% of his wealth to charity.
