Maya Kay Responds to Claims About Her Brand's Products: "From AliExpress"

The storm surrounding the new beauty and skincare brand Glammie, owned by model and influencer Maya Kay, refuses to calm down, but Kay refuses to remain silent. After restaurant and content critic Niv Gilboa uploaded a video claiming that the brand's products are sold at inflated prices compared to supposedly identical items from AliExpress, Kay broke her silence to address the online criticism.

In an interview, Kay addressed the media attack regarding price gaps and clarified that the harsh criticism had the exact opposite effect for her:

"First of all, thank you. Thank you, you don't understand how good this did for us. It just showed me how many people do appreciate and do support, and he revealed to me the side of the good people like that. He wanted to bring down, but actually lifted up. But listen, I can't control people's mouths. If that's his way of conveying the message he wants, that's fine, that's him. He went home and brought himself down, which is a bummer in itself, you understand?"

When asked directly about the main claims presented by Gilboa, suggesting a massive markup on off-the-shelf products, Kay explained the economic and logistical mechanisms behind establishing an independent brand—factors that she claims Gilboa completely ignored:

"He basically took all the price comparisons without shipping costs, without warranty, without a seller, without branding, without building a pop-up. He basically took everything he didn't calculate and put it out there, and that's fine from his perspective. Because he probably doesn't really understand what building the business we did involves, me and my team. And that's fine, and if he wants, let him order suits from AliExpress too, it's all good. Because he sits there with rings and suits and products," she told Walla! Celebs.
