Prominent Israeli television host Ofira Asayag has weighed in on the high-profile radio breakup between Maya Bezalel and her longtime co-host Kobi Sabag. Bezalel recently concluded her final broadcast at the public broadcaster, making a high-profile career move to join Keshet 12, where she is set to host a new daily daytime program covering current affairs, culture, and entertainment.

Writing on her newly launched WhatsApp channel under the heading "Culture of Goodbyes," Asayag addressed the transition. "The talented and hardworking Maya Bezalel has advanced from radio to Keshet 12, and the parting is a bit painful for her longtime radio partner Kobi Sabag. I suggest showing support and parting ways nicely. Look at me, a role model for dignified breakups. Screams," she wrote.

For seven years, Bezalel and Sabag formed one of Israel's most recognizable radio duos, beginning their journey at Lev HaMedina radio before moving to the public broadcaster to host a popular morning show in Israeli media Gimmel and participating together in Israeli media's "Mah SheTagidu." However, the professional shift triggered friction when the public broadcaster required Bezalel to choose between her new role at Keshet 12 and her ongoing morning broadcasts, effectively ending their partnership.

While Bezalel delivered an emotional on-air farewell, thanking Sabag for years of shared moments behind the microphone, reports surfaced regarding personal tension between the two. According to reports, Sabag was reportedly displeased with the departure and unfollowed or blocked his former co-host on Instagram, highlighting the personal strain behind the professional transition.
