Maccabi Tel Aviv Travels to Face Partizan as Club Weighs Theis Future
Maccabi Tel Aviv travels to Belgrade to face Partizan on Friday, aiming to end a five-game skid as the club reportedly weighs a potential transfer for center Daniel Theis.

Maccabi Tel Aviv departs for Belgrade on Thursday, likely for the final time this season, ahead of Friday's EuroLeague away match against Partizan Belgrade at 21:45. Head coach Oded Kattash will have nearly a full roster at his disposal, with only Iffe Lundberg sidelined, as the yellow-and-blue side looks to snap a five-game losing streak across all competitions.
Center Daniel Theis is traveling with the squad, though his status for the game remains uncertain after missing the last two and a half matches. The German big man has not played since the defeat to Crvena Zvezda, where he spent the entire second half on the bench, but he has trained normally in recent days and is physically fit to play.
While Maccabi maintains a standard public stance regarding Theis, sources indicate the club is exploring potential options to transfer the player if an interested team is willing to cover his salary. "It simply hasn't clicked so far," club sources noted, adding that an early parting of ways could ultimately benefit both sides in the long run.
Several European clubs have reportedly made initial inquiries about the center, though no formal negotiations have yet begun with Maccabi. Theis previously signed a two-year contract with the Israeli powerhouse worth $4.5 million in total.
Theis has not been registered for domestic league games this season. In seven EuroLeague appearances for Maccabi Tel Aviv, he has averaged 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2 assists in 18.1 minutes per contest.
