The Hebrew University Among the Top 100 Universities in the World
The prestigious international ranking establishes the Hebrew University's place at the top "thanks to research excellence, innovation, and global impact."
The 2026 Shanghai Ranking, published on Saturday, places the Hebrew University at 89th place. This annual ranking is considered one of the most reliable and influential in the academic world. It evaluates approximately 2,500 higher education institutions globally, based on objective indicators including the volume and quality of scientific publications in leading journals, as well as the number of faculty members and alumni who have won Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals.
"The presence of the Hebrew University in the list of the top 100 institutions in the world is tangible evidence of the quality of research and the dedicated work of the academic and administrative staff," the university stated.
Prof. Tamir Sheafer, President of the Hebrew University, added:
