Prominent Israeli journalist and TV host Lucy Aharish, known for her sharp positions against racism and extremism, is set to embark on a speaking tour in Australia alongside her husband, actor Tsahi Halevi. The couple, whose interfaith marriage sparked widespread public debate in Israel, will share their personal story to offer insights into the complex social fabric of Israeli society.

The lectures are organized by the United Israel Appeal (UIA) Australia, a foundational organization established in 1920 to support the development and security of Israel. Their tour includes a keynote event in Victoria on November 10, dedicated to the memory of Jack Smorgon, a prominent philanthropist and friend of Israel, followed by another engagement in New South Wales on November 12.

Meanwhile, Aharish recently made headlines following a heated backstage confrontation with media personality Eyal Berkovic during a broadcast in Israeli media. According to reports, the dispute erupted after journalist Moria Asraf referred to "Zionist mandates" during election coverage. Aharish strongly objected to the phrasing, leading to a tense exchange where Berkovic reportedly made a remark that prompted Aharish to leave the studio in tears.

Channel 13 management addressed the incident, stating that such language is unacceptable and confirming that Berkovic was asked to apologize for his comments. Throughout her career, Aharish has anchored programs across major networks, including Channel 10, i24News, and Kan 11, establishing herself as a leading voice in Israeli media.
