Lucas Falcão Eyes Top Spot with Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel's Premier League
Hapoel Tel Aviv midfielder Lucas Falcão discussed the team's strong winning streak and the race for first place in Israel's Premier League, while approaching his 50th appearance.

Hapoel Tel Aviv is currently enjoying an impressive run of form, largely driven by Brazilian midfielder Lucas Falcão. Speaking to the VAVEL portal in his home country on Tuesday, Falcão discussed the Reds' winning streak, their pursuit of the top spot in the Premier League, and his deep connection to both the club and life in Israel.
"We have only lost once in our last eight matches, and we boast the best defense among the 14 teams in the league," Falcão stated. "We are extremely optimistic about the future, provided we maintain the exact same level of commitment and concentration."
Hapoel Tel Aviv has secured victories in its last four league outings, including a convincing 3-0 win over Hapoel Jerusalem in the previous round. The team currently sits in second place, just a single point behind the league leader.
Title Race and Upcoming Fixtures
Following the Toto Cup final against Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Reds are set to host Maccabi Haifa on Monday. Falcão acknowledges that a victory could potentially propel his side to the summit of the table, depending on other results.
"That would be fantastic, without a doubt," the midfielder remarked regarding the prospect of claiming first place. "Being at the top brings a certain responsibility, but it also commands much greater respect from the other teams. We will do our part and fight with all our might to win, though what happens in the other match is out of our hands."
A Personal Milestone
Falcão, who is just three appearances away from reaching a milestone of 50 matches in Israeli football, also reflected on his personal journey: "When I arrived here, I naturally dreamed of succeeding on the pitch. However, I felt completely at home long before completing nearly two years here. This is a wonderful and symbolic milestone, and I will be immensely proud to reach it."
