Cadet national team falls to Turkey, Serbia awaits in the Round of 16
The blue-and-whites overcame a double-digit deficit to lead heading into the final quarter, but ultimately fell 72:61. Michal Abudraham’s 21 points and 10 rebounds were not enough to secure the win.
Israel's cadet national team (U16) was defeated 72:61 this Sunday evening by Turkey in the final game of the European Championship's first stage. Israel led 21:18 after the first quarter, but a sluggish second quarter sent them into halftime trailing 35:30.
The Turkish side extended their lead to 11 points in the second half, but a 17:6 Israeli run shifted the momentum, putting Israel ahead 49:48 entering the final frame. In the decisive quarter, Turkey regained control, winning the period 24:12 to seal the victory.
Michal Abudraham stood out with 21 points and 10 rebounds, but it was not enough for Israel, which finished Group B in third place with a record of one win and two losses. The team will face Serbia in the Round of 16 this Tuesday.
