Elbit Systems is launching the new THMS system in Denmark, a mobile battlefield networking platform that deploys in under five minutes, carries advanced sensors, and enables up to 24 hours of autonomous operation.

Elbit Systems is set to unveil a new mobile system for battlefield networking at a defense exhibition in Denmark. The system enables the rapid deployment of communications, sensors, and mission-critical systems for digital and distributed ground forces.

Developed by Elbit Systems Sweden AB, a subsidiary specializing in advanced digitization and radio technologies for ground forces, the new system is designated as the THMS (Tactical High Mobility Shelter).

THMS is a mobile platform designed for battlefield networking. It features rapid deployment capabilities and serves as a forward node for communication and sensing, extending connectivity both within and beyond line-of-sight to support operational coordination among maneuvering forces. Its modular architecture allows for the integration of a wide variety of mission systems to meet diverse operational requirements.

The system was recently presented to European and NATO customers during one of the largest live field demonstrations of a digital ground network in Europe. During the event, the system demonstrated its ability to provide resilient communication and operational continuity for mobile forces operating in complex and challenging environments.

Elbit states that the system was developed and manufactured in Sweden, utilizing a European supply chain, and is intended for deployment in harsh field conditions, including extreme weather and Arctic climates. THMS is offered as a mature, ready-to-deploy operational capability.

Combining high mobility with a modular design, THMS enables armed forces to quickly establish enhanced communication and sensing capabilities without dependence on fixed infrastructure or static headquarters. The system is equipped with a telescopic mast reaching up to 25 meters, capable of supporting payloads of up to 100 kg, thereby extending operational range even in difficult terrain.

Developed as a multi-mission platform, THMS supports the integration of a wide range of payloads, including tactical communications, electronic warfare (EW) systems, surveillance sensors, satellite links, tactical 5G, and high-power laser capabilities.

The system operates as a fully independent unit with integrated power generation, allowing for up to 24 hours of autonomous operation, independent of the carrier vehicle. Automatic mast deployment and a unique cable management system allow for setup in less than five minutes, reducing operator workload in the field.

The system is compatible with both tracked and wheeled platforms.
