A dramatic incident occurred in the Pardes Snir neighborhood of Lod when a motorcyclist ran over a police officer during a routine check and fled the scene. The event took place during midday operations by local police, who signaled the rider to stop before he accelerated and forcefully struck the officer.
Security camera footage released by the Israel Police shows the dramatic moment: the officer attempts to intercept the rider, but the motorcycle hits him, sending both crashing to the ground. The suspect quickly got back on his bike and escaped. The officer sustained minor injuries and was taken for medical treatment.
Following the incident, Central District forces and Border Police launched extensive searches and an intelligence-driven manhunt. Shortly afterward, the suspect—a Lod resident in his 20s—was located near the Triangle area, and footage of his arrest was subsequently published.
Following his interrogation at the Lod police station, the suspect is scheduled to appear in court for a remand extension. Police emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward anyone attempting to harm security forces and evade justice.
