The heartbreaking eulogy of Yuval Ezra's fiancée: "Everyone admired you"

Family and friends are accompanying Major Yuval Ezra, who was killed in a shooting attack on the outskirts of the village of Tell in Samaria, to his final resting place at the Beit Dagan cemetery this evening, Sunday.

Tania, Yuval's mother, eulogized her son in tears:

"I don't know how to say goodbye. I don't believe I am writing about you. You were my pride. The smile never left your lips. You were a rare child, loved by everyone, you touched so many people. You influenced and loved so much. You are in our hearts forever. We said goodbye to you in formation, I kissed you and I will never kiss you again. I love you, my child, my pride."

Yuval's fiancée, Timor, said:

"My love, you are my whole world. I want to thank you for the most beautiful years you gave me, for being the best friend and lover. Thank you for being the best son to your parents, that is what made me fall in love with you. How I loved to pester you about everything, you would fall asleep and I would still bother you and say 'Come on, get up.' Everyone loved you. I remember seeing you for the first time in Shizafon, and I told the girls 'Wow, who is this handsome guy?' You took my cigarettes so I would come talk to you. Suddenly the duty officer changed and you sat with me until 6:00 AM, and then I kissed you and said 'Don't fall in love with me, I'm not ready for this.' You told me 'You will fall in love with me.' How right you were. I kept asking you why you love me, and you wrote to me in my birthday card 'You are my whole world.'"

"Look how many people love you. You were an officer through and through, you were perfect, honey, everyone admired you. You were an inspiration to everyone. I love you. You know how much we worked on your style, you came to me with that shocking lion hat with the patches," she recalled. "I made it disappear. You asked me where the hat was when we were going to the beach. You loved the sea, you were a simple man, honey, whom everyone loved. I will always love you, and I promise I will be strong for you. I told you 'Don't be a hero, there are enough heroes.' But that's who you are."

Sister Daniel added:

"My Yuval, my little brother. There won't be enough words to say goodbye to you. It's hard to speak when you are no longer here. From the outside it sounds the same — telling of the fallen's virtues. But you were an angel already in your life, a man of people. You are all good. In the last few days, people told of the impact you left on them, for us it is not unusual. In service you took a significant part, in the corps your influence on people was felt."

"I was privileged to call you brother, everywhere I heard words of pride about you," she said. "You were a person without any evil, that's who you were. You are good and pure. Your fiancée Timor will forever be my sister. The coming year was supposed to be your wedding year, we waited with excitement. Instead of a year of joy, we will deal with a year of mourning for you. I will never accept the fact that you will not have a next generation. You were an anchor and a refuge for me that gives a hug. I love you."

Brother Ariel continued:

"Thank you to everyone who came and loves Yuval. Yuval was an object of pride, we were like twins. He was my best friend, he was the object of my pride in the world. An amazing hero of Israel, an amazing fiancé to the amazing Timor. I love you."

The commander of the "Keren" battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Shahar Saditzki, eulogized:

"Yuval, saying goodbye to you is inconceivable. You were significant to many. It is hard to describe the loss. You excelled as a fighter, you had personal charm. We followed you with admiration, you led from the front with personal example and modesty, always at eye level. Always acted out of love for people and the country. In the last mission, you left the house understanding that there was an event. Without hesitation, you charged and sought contact and took care of the citizens. You protected with your body, you did not run away and did not hesitate. You fought with a sense of mission and supreme heroism."
