The start of the season in European leagues is already providing unforgettable moments, and one of them came from the second division in Russia. Nader Mohammadi, a 29-year-old Iranian defender for Spartak Kostroma, became an internet star after assisting a goal in an extraordinary way.
During the match against SKA-Khabarovsk, Mohammadi, who had already made a name for himself thanks to his unique throw-ins, once again performed a throw-in using a front flip — a rare move in football — and sent the ball straight into the box. The attack ended in a goal, and Spartak Kostroma went on to a 3:1 victory, which moved them to second place in the table.
This is not the first time Mohammadi has used this technique. Back in 2021, when he played in Iran, he attempted a similar throw-in from midfield, but the move did not end in a goal then. This time, the perfect execution made him a hit on social media and earned praise from football fans around the world.
Mohammadi, who grew up at Paykan and also played for Tractor, Gol Gohar, and Zob Ahan, moved outside of Iran for the first time in his career just this summer, when he signed with Spartak Kostroma. Now, thanks to one extraordinary throw-in, he has gained (once again) international exposure.
