Laid off from Monday? The Israel Aerospace Industries is calling you
The Government Companies Authority urges former Monday employees to consider defense industry roles. Also: Eldan's branch redesign and Cellcom's new partnership with HBO Max.

1. Laid off from Monday? The Israel Aerospace Industries is calling you
The extensive layoffs at Monday, in which the company announced a reduction of about 630 employees, are sparking reactions well beyond the high-tech sector. Shortly after the announcement, Maxim Khadarkevich, an economist and management consultant at the Government Companies Authority, published a post on LinkedIn calling on the company's former employees to explore employment opportunities within Israel's defense industries.
"Even if you were not accepted to Nvidia, defense companies continue to grow and are actively recruiting," wrote Khadarkevich. According to him, those who did not secure positions at leading tech giants or space companies may find equally high-level professional challenges in the defense sector. "In defense companies, you will work on truly worthwhile projects that you need to see with your own eyes to believe," he added.
Khadarkevich listed several organizations currently seeking talent, including Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael, Tomer, and the Government Companies Authority, which manages job openings for state-owned defense firms. All these entities are expanding their operations across a wide range of roles.
This call comes as defense industries face growing global and domestic demand due to increased defense budgets. Companies are hiring in fields such as software development, artificial intelligence, cyber, algorithms, hardware, embedded systems, and product management.
2. Eldan's Redesign
Leasing and car rental company Eldan has launched a new flagship branch in Ashdod. Spanning 5 dunams, the branch showcases a new design language dubbed "Look & Style," which the company plans to roll out across 15 locations with a total investment of approximately 2 million shekels.
The new facade features a prominent blue structure with the company logo, aluminum cladding with a natural wood finish, black frames, and LED-illuminated plexiglass signage. Inside, large-scale graphic walls have been integrated, featuring images of families, couples, and vehicles alongside the company's signature colors.
Avishai Levy, co-CEO at Eldan, stated: "This move is part of our continued investment in renewing our network and preparing for the coming years. We are creating a uniform network of branches that reflects our brand values."
3. Media: Cellcom and HBO Max
Cellcom is launching a collaboration with the streaming service HBO Max. Under the promotion, which runs until August 31, new subscribers will receive fiber internet, Cellcom TV+, and the standard HBO package for 99 shekels for the first three months. Subsequently, the monthly fee will be 169 shekels for the first year and 189 shekels for the second. The campaign is being managed by the Bauman-Bar-Rivnay advertising agency.
HBO Max content includes hits like "House of the Dragon," "The Last of Us," "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," and "The Penguin," alongside classics like "Friends" and "The Big Bang Theory." The new "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" series is scheduled for release in December.
Number of the day:
25 million shekels — the budget cut imposed on the corporation following the new broadcasting law, which led the company to petition the Supreme Court this week.
