Liat Blue on Eden Fines’ photos: No photo and no trend are worth a girl’s life
Eden Fines’ post from Paris, where she posed in a top that showed her slim figure, prompted a response from Liat Blue, who wrote that her heart “contracts” because of such images. Blue also said that people should stop idolizing extreme thinness and start idolizing health, adding that eating disorders can lead to severe consequences.

Eden Fines is still recovering from her stay in London and Paris (and earlier, in Greece), where she mixed a bit of business with a bit of pleasure — as can be seen from the footage she uploaded to her 1.1 million followers on Instagram. However, alongside the photos from Paris, where the 29-year-old model noted in French that the city of lights suits her, she shared footage exposing a flat and delicate stomach, which caught the attention of Liat Blue today (Sunday).
“I look at this photo and my heart contracts,” Blue wrote in a story posted against the backdrop of the footage of Fines, in which she is dressed in a very miniaturized top. “I’m not writing this against Eden Fines; I only wish her happiness. I’m writing this against a culture that sanctifies extreme thinness.”
Blue, who is 42 and recently spoke in depth to the weekend magazine of mako about her medical condition, added: “As someone who has gone through eating disorders, was hospitalized, and to this day continues to deal with it, I know where images like these can lead girls and young women. They don’t see ‘genetics’ — they see a target, they see an ideal, and they are ready to do everything to reach it.”
Further, Blue wrote against the backdrop of the photo of Fines, who married Asher Cohen last May:
“It’s time to stop idolizing thinness and start idolizing health, because eating disorders are the mental illness with one of the highest mortality rates. No photo and no trend are worth a girl’s life.”
Blue is not the only one who criticized the model’s footage. The photographer Adi Barkan reacted to it last night, writing on his Facebook account: “Eden already said that she suffered in the past from eating disorders. I was sure that after the wedding the stress would drop and the happiness from the relationship would open up the appetite. My heart is with the followers.”
Fines, who celebrated her relationship with Cohen at a grand event with more than a thousand guests, during which she changed four wedding dresses, shared footage again today, it is worth noting, of herself eating a pleasant breakfast, with an omelet and bread on her plate. “Your reaction to the hecklers?”
