Explosion of grenade at Japanika solved; three weapons incidents in the center
Following the throwing of a fragmentation grenade last month at the chain's branch in Kiryat Ono, two suspects from Bat Yam aged 18 and 22 were arrested. Today: three grenades were located in residential complexes in Tel Aviv and Holon, some of which caused explosions. There were no casualties in any of the incidents.
The Central Unit of the Tel Aviv District Police has solved the incident involving the throwing of a fragmentation grenade at the 'Japanika' branch in Kiryat Ono last month, and has prepared prosecutor's statements against two suspects, residents of Bat Yam aged 18 and 22, ahead of the filing of an indictment.
As recalled, the incident occurred on July 13, around 02:00 AM. According to the investigation, two masked individuals arrived on a two-wheeled vehicle at the 'Japanika' branch, threw a fragmentation grenade at the entrance, and fled the scene. The explosion caused damage, but there were no casualties.
Meanwhile, three weapons incidents occurred during the night and morning in the Tel Aviv and Holon area:

A stun grenade was located in a residential complex on Nissim Aloni Street in Tel Aviv.

A fragmentation grenade was found in a residential complex in the north of the city.

In Holon, an explosion was heard, and evidence indicating the use of a fragmentation grenade was found at the scene.
There were no casualties in any of the incidents.
In Tel Aviv, police received a report regarding an unexploded ordnance item located in a residential complex on Nissim Aloni Street. Officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station and Tel Aviv District sappers arrived, neutralized the item, and removed it. Police stated it was a stun grenade and that the background to the incident is criminal.
In parallel, in northern Tel Aviv, a report was received this morning about a fragmentation grenade that did not explode, also located in a residential complex. Officers from the Tel Aviv North station and district sappers neutralized and removed the grenade. There were no casualties or damage, and an investigation is underway.
In Holon, reports were received before dawn about an explosion on Zvi Tadmor Street. Officers from the Holon station were summoned along with police sappers and forensic investigators from the Tel Aviv District. Damage was found, but there were no casualties. Initial suspicion points to the throwing of a fragmentation grenade.
In all three cases, the police have opened investigations, and forces are working to collect evidence and clarify the circumstances of the incidents.
