The secrets, the connections, and the leverage: Who really controls Mojtaba Khamenei?

During the 'Morning Edition' program with Dana Varon, Iranian affairs expert Nati Tubian addressed today, Thursday, the status of Mojtaba Khamenei. Tubian responded to remarks made yesterday by a senior political source, according to which Mojtaba is "definitely alive," and stated:

"If Mojtaba Khamenei is alive, then he is completely subordinate. He is like a puppet in the hands of the Revolutionary Guards."

Tubian explained that Mojtaba Khamenei maintained close ties with key figures in the regime even before becoming his father's confidant. According to the expert, he was in close contact with all the important power brokers, including intelligence, the Revolutionary Guards, and the security apparatus. It was Mojtaba, Tubian claims, who managed and coordinated various rounds of suppression, from the Iranian elections to subsequent riots.

The expert revealed that the Revolutionary Guards hold significant leverage over Mojtaba Khamenei, partly due to his sexual inclinations. Tubian cited a former cleric, now residing in Austria, who testified that former Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib was responsible for bringing boys from religious seminaries to satisfy Mojtaba's sexual needs. He emphasized the disturbing reality that "those boys, who had apparently undergone brainwashing, felt pride that they were satisfying the sexual needs of this pervert."
