The parents are already there: preparations for Omer Adam's wedding are in full swing
A week before the chuppah in Portofino, the Adam family has already landed in Italy to ensure everything is perfectly organized: from private flights and guest logistics to the Shabbat Chatan in Genoa. Nothing is left to chance.
Exactly one week from now, Omer Adam and his fiancée, Sasha Israelovich, will stand under the chuppah in Portofino — a location no larger than Allenby Street in Tel Aviv, but tucked away in Italy. The couple is preparing for the festivities, and Adam's parents, Yaniv and Sharon, along with his brother Roi, have already arrived overseas to personally ensure that everything is ready for the big event.
This is no ordinary wedding; the Adam family feels personally responsible for every guest arriving in Italy. The logistics are complex: a flight to Milan followed by a drive to Portofino, as there are no direct flights to the destination. The family is determined to see that everything runs exactly by the book.
The celebration comes just three months after the couple's surprise engagement. The choice of the Italian Riviera stems from a desire to escape the prying eyes of the Israeli paparazzi and maintain an intimate atmosphere, while also honoring Sasha's Italian roots. The wedding festival will kick off this Sunday, August 23, spanning five days, with the chuppah taking place next Thursday.
To ensure everything goes smoothly, the couple hired a dedicated production company. Guests from the inner circle received fully funded flight tickets and personalized schedules, with some even chartering private jets to bypass time constraints. Among the attendees are newlyweds Eden Pines and Osher Cohen, as well as the trio Ma Kashur (Asi, Shalom, and Zion).
Not everyone can stay for the duration: singer Odya, for instance, will depart on Thursday due to a performance in Israel. Singer Aviv Geffen and his wife Sharon have managed a different schedule: they will celebrate the first few days in Italy before returning to Israel just in time for the wedding of blogger Daniel Amit and Emily Damari. Conversely, Nasrin Kadri and Sasson Shaulov were forced to decline the invitation entirely due to prior commitments.
Following the chuppah on Thursday, the couple does not plan to rush back to Israel. They intend to celebrate their Shabbat Chatan, but faced a minor hurdle: there is no Jewish community in Portofino. Consequently, the celebration will likely be moved to a synagogue in the neighboring port city of Genoa. The couple may even extend their wedding vacation in Europe until the start of the Hebrew New Year.
