Israelis prefer local airlines, Israir in the lead
Despite being the largest carrier, El Al ranks behind Israir in the monthly index of online purchases by Israelis. In the back-to-school sector, Delta and Fox are leading the growth.

Orders for summer vacations and preparations for the upcoming school year drove online shopping in July, with a total increase of approximately 2% compared to the previous month, according to Shop Analytics data. International sites saw a 4% rise, while domestic Israeli sites experienced a 1% decline.
International sites
AliExpress remains the market leader, with order volumes exceeding those of Shein and Temu combined. The platform maintains high customer loyalty, with 76% of users shopping exclusively there among Chinese competitors. Recent updates to VAT calculation at checkout, similar to Amazon's model, are expected to provide greater price transparency for consumers.
Competitors are showing strong growth: Shein recorded a 9% increase, while Temu grew by approximately 22%. iHerb holds fourth place with an average basket of 210 NIS. In the tourism sector, Booking.com jumped to fifth place (+38% compared to June), while Wizz Air ranked eighth and Agoda tenth.
Israeli sites
KSP maintains the top spot in the domestic ranking with an average basket of 337 NIS. Due to frequent promotions, 73% of orders included discounts, with most customers opting for in-store collection. Super-Pharm follows in second place, leveraging its extensive marketplace.
In food retail, Shufersal (3rd place) significantly outperforms Rami Levy (6th place), particularly through the Wolt delivery platform. The Histadrut's social supermarket (14th place) has also gained traction, surpassing major chains like Tiv Taam and Victory in online sales volume.
Airlines and fashion
In the summer travel sector, Israir surprisingly reached eighth place, overtaking El Al (10th place). However, Israir reported a $32 million loss for the first half of 2026 and is currently focusing on its New York route and state compensation to recover. Arkia ranks 19th.
In the fashion category, Terminal X and Zara lead the market. Delta (9th place) returned to the top ten with double-digit growth in orders driven by back-to-school promotions and an average basket of 251 NIS. Fox and H&M also recorded significant surges in order volume.
