Strauss Plant Workers in the North Secure 4% Pay Rise and Signing Bonus
A new four-year collective agreement has been signed for approximately 300 employees at the Strauss dairy plant in the Bar-Lev industrial park. The deal includes a 4% annual salary increase, a 1,000 NIS signing bonus, subsidized couple vacations, and individual pay adjustments.
A significant development for approximately 300 employees at the Strauss dairy plant in the Bar-Lev industrial park in northern Israel: a new collective agreement has been signed for the next four years between the company’s management, representatives of the Histadrut in the Western Galilee region, and the employees’ committee.
Under the terms of the agreement, staff will receive salary increases of 4% for each year of the contract. Additionally, they will receive a one-time signing bonus of 1,000 NIS and a subsidy for couple vacations. An additional clause stipulates that the company’s management will transfer 35,000 NIS annually to the employees’ committee account. Furthermore, individual salary adjustments will be implemented for dozens of employees in full coordination with worker representatives.
Negotiations involved Western Galilee region Histadrut chair Acher Shmueli, Naamat Ofra region chair Efrat Alkaim Cohen, union representatives, and employees’ committee chair David Ben Abo. Representing Strauss were plant manager Avshalom Bacher, along with representatives from the Human Resources and Finance departments, Shai Babad and Ronen Zohar.
Western Galilee Histadrut chair Acher Shmueli stated:
“This is another excellent agreement that improves conditions for the employees at the Strauss plant. Even during this complex period, we have managed to achieve outstanding results for our workforce. I thank the management, the employees’ committee, the union, and everyone who contributed to the signing of this agreement.”
