Israel Hayom Bestsellers: "The Observers" keeps surprising
This is a great time for historical women's books, with a large presence in the charts. "Celebrating Life" manages to maintain its strength in second place. The fifth "Karamel" comic returned to the chart and is closing three months in it. Everything that happened this week in the bestsellers.
At the end of July, a new scandal broke out in the global book industry, this time involving Jerry Flada, whose debut novel, "Call Me, I'll Hide the Body," was acquired for an astronomical sum of approximately 2.4 million dollars. However, this meteoric success was cut short when Flada's agents accused him of writing the novel using an artificial intelligence model.
This sparked a fascinating discussion: how exactly should we evaluate novels written, even in part, with the help of AI? The debate is particularly relevant in light of a recently published study in which 1,682 participants were asked to rate human-written stories versus those generated by AI. In blind readings, participants consistently rated the AI-generated stories as higher quality. Only when informed that the story lacked human input did they shift their preference toward the human-written material.
