Hezbollah Secretary-General: "Israel and the US will not succeed in bringing about our surrender"
Naim Qassem attacked the direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, claiming that Beirut "gave up its right to demand anything." Qassem called for Islamic unity against Israel: "We have sacrificed much and have not lost. The loss is when we surrender."
Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem spoke this evening (Friday) on the occasion of the birthday of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, and claimed that there is importance in Islamic unity to avoid conflicts and to deal with Israel, which he described as "absolute evil."
Referring to the rounds of direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, Qassem said: "The Lebanese authorities chose a path devoid of dignity." According to him, in Beirut "they did not bring about a ceasefire or a withdrawal, but gave up the right to demand anything. The negotiations are being conducted under the war, give legitimacy to the war, and lean in Israel's favor. The US is a partner of Israel. You could have gone to indirect negotiations and set the conditions."
"The Palestinian issue is not a Sunni Muslim issue, nor a Shiite Muslim issue, nor a matter of Islamic law, but an Islamic, national, Arab, and humanitarian issue," said Qassem, adding later: "The region is undergoing a historic change today that is reorganizing its balance of power. We are witnessing exceptional events. The US is paving the way to strengthen its control and is laying the foundations for the establishment of a 'Greater Israel'."
According to the head of the terrorist organization, there are two main currents in the Middle East - the current of the US and Israel and the current of the "Islamic Republic and the resistance." He emphasized that "Israel and the US will not succeed through killing, economic siege, and all the tools of propaganda. They will not succeed through pressure for surrender and attempts to bring about migration and separate the people from the resistance."
Qassem mocked and said that "Netanyahu thinks he can do whatever he wants, but he will not succeed in achieving his goals. We have sacrificed much and have not lost. The loss is when we surrender."
Referring to the words of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun this week, the Hezbollah Secretary-General said: "To those who say that negotiations are better than war - did your negotiations stop the war?"
Qassem also claimed: "We are also not interested in war, and the proof of this is that we agreed to the agreement of November 27, 2024."
He accused Israel of pushing for a 'Greater Israel' project, and the proof of this is what is happening in Syria. Qassem also promised that Hezbollah will remain on the ground and will not accept these projects.
