Real Madrid Defeats Leganes 4:1 in Pre-season Friendly
Jose Mourinho's side cruised to victory against the second-division opponent. Valverde, Gonzalo Garcia, and Mastantuono were among the scorers.
Real Madrid continues its preparations for the 2026/27 season, defeating Leganes 4:1 in a friendly match held this Tuesday evening.
Jose Mourinho fielded a strong lineup featuring Trent Alexander-Arnold, Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Guler, Federico Valverde, and Franco Mastantuono, alongside youngster Alexis Ciria. Several squad members who participated in the recent World Cup were granted additional rest and did not feature.
Guler provided the assist for Valverde’s opening goal in the 21st minute. Four minutes later, Alexander-Arnold delivered a long ball to Gonzalo Garcia, who doubled the lead. Mastantuono added to the tally in the 58th minute, followed by an own goal from Ruben Pulido two minutes later. The second-division side managed to narrow the gap through Naim Garcia in the 36th minute.
This coming Saturday, Mourinho's men will continue their pre-season campaign against Fiorentina, followed by a match the following Saturday against Gabi Kanichowsky and Ferencvaros.
