Lebanese Prime Minister against Hezbollah: "The greatest collaborator with Israel"

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam responded today to Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem and declared:

"The one who provided the greatest assistance to Israel is the one who gave it excuses to attack our country."

Earlier, Qassem accused the Lebanese government of assisting Israel rather than Lebanon.

In a statement by the Lebanese Prime Minister, it was written: "Today there are those who accuse the political establishment of assisting Israel instead of assisting Lebanese sovereignty, and then call for dialogue and unity as if the Lebanese have no memory."

Salam further emphasized: "The truth is that the greatest assistance to Israel came from those who dragged Lebanon alone into the adventures of the 'support' wars, and provided excuses for aggression against our country, for the trampling of its sovereignty, for the destruction of its cities and villages, for the killing of its residents, and for the displacement of hundreds of thousands."

Salam attacked: "Those who decided on the war and are trying to continue to usurp the state's decision-making, link Lebanon to foreign considerations and axes. They ignore the interests of the Lebanese people and have no right to distribute patriotic certificates or speak about sovereignty."

He added: "Lebanon has no sovereignty except through an independent decision-making process within the state that has one army, which exercises its authority over all its territory and exclusively through its own forces. Dialogue and unity can only be built on the courage to acknowledge the bitter truth, and to take responsibility for the reckless choices for which the Lebanese people continue to pay a heavy price."
