The greatest mystery: Why does Roi Adam refuse to perform?
Despite the hits and industry experts' estimates that he would sell 12,000 tickets quickly, Roi Adam is not ready to take the stage with his own show. Mako has learned that the reason is much simpler, and even a bit touching: stage fright.
Roi Adam started with a guest appearance at Odaya's show. At first, the song was not released under his name, but four asterisks appeared instead. His name was revealed only when she performed at the Menora Arena a few months later, and he participated in the performance via a video of him on the screens. His brother Omer documented the performance and said: "A genius, performing without getting on stage."
Since then, quite a few hits have flowed under the bridge. It is easy to say that Roi is "just the brother," especially when it comes to one of the most successful singers in the country, but he still manages to release at least one hit every year. The latest hit with Odaya, another collaboration with the one who would become the partner and then the mythical ex. "Meturefet" with Zion Baruch was already proof that he is capable of bringing very high listening numbers on his own, then "Loro Piana," "Ahavat Hayay," and now he has broken his own boundaries with "Avi HaTachul." There is even a music video, but Roi himself does not appear too much, only for a few seconds, and instead, Shlomi Koriat, who played the iconic role of the criminal in "HaBorer," stars in his place.
Two weeks ago, an unusual event occurred: Roi was a guest at Sasson Efraim Shaulov's performance at the Menora Arena, and together they performed "Avi HaTachul," which quite easily entered the top five of the Hitlist - Israel's official chart. From the side, some saw his brother Omer documenting with enthusiasm and excitement for his little brother.
So how is it that despite all the success, we still don't see Roi Adam on stage in his own shows? Mako has learned that the reason is quite simple: stage fright. He has no problem performing one or two songs, say sources familiar with the details, and add:
"Once it comes to a full performance, holding a whole show is just too much for him. It is very complex to hold a whole show, to talk to the audience, it is not something that everyone is capable of doing and wants to do."
Other sources in the music industry say that if he overcomes the fear and decides to open a show at the Menora Arena, for example, within an hour he would sell 12,000 tickets without a problem. Another source says that Roi receives dozens of offers for performances and refuses them; money in his case does not play a role. He is more of a businessman and the songs are a hobby, which, by chance or not, is a huge success. It may be, however, that this is actually the secret of his charm and the secret of his success - the distance, which creates madness among the fans.
