The liquidation plan hatched at the Dan Hotel in Herzliya: plea bargain for members of the "Al-Asmar" gang
Nine members of the "Al-Asmar" gang were convicted as part of a plea bargain for conspiracy to commit murder. According to the amended indictment, they planned a series of liquidations as part of a conflict with the "Sabichat" gang; the agreed sentences reach up to three years in prison.
A plea bargain has been reached for members of the "Al-Asmar" gang, a criminal organization that operated in the Wadi Ara area, engaging in non-bank lending, extortion, and illegal weapons possession. Under the agreement, nine defendants were convicted of conspiracy to commit murder.
According to the terms of the plea deal, the ringleader will serve 3 years in prison, seven others will serve sentences ranging from 2.5 to 3 years, and the final defendant will perform community service. This was reported by "Maariv". The amended indictment identifies Suheib Jabarin as the leader of the gang, with the other eight defendants acting under his command.
Throughout 2024, a conflict escalated between the "Al-Asmar" gang and the "Sabichat" gang, which operated in the villages of Salem and Zalfa, following attempts by "Al-Asmar" to seize control of criminal activities in Zalfa. By January 2025, the feud had intensified into violent attacks between the two groups.
In February 2025, Suheib Jabarin spent several days at the Dan Accadia and Carlton hotels in Herzliya, where he coordinated plans to target members of the "Sabichat" gang.
"The defendants purchased several drones equipped with devices to drop grenades or bombs from a great height to kill members of the "Sabichat" gang. They tracked the movements of their rivals using cameras, observers, and drones."
To ensure accuracy, the gang conducted tests by dropping water bottles from high altitudes. They also plotted to detonate a booby-trapped Renault vehicle at a rival's home and planned to shoot the tires of an armored vehicle to force it to overturn before executing the passengers.
Five of the defendants specifically targeted Mahmoud Abu Kaoudi Jabarin due to his ties to the "Sabichat" gang and as retaliation for the death of their associate, Muhammad Agbaria.
The agreement was finalized between the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office and defense attorneys Tamir Sananes, Moshe Yochai, Adal Buirat, and Shahar Hatzroni.
