Dessert pioneer makes a huge economic move: Jacobs Bakery bought for 4 million, branch in Ben Gurion Airport

The "Matuka" group continues to deepen its hold on the local culinary and bakery market and is carrying out a significant strategic move. The group is acquiring the veteran brand "Jacobs Bakery" in a deal totaling approximately 4 million shekels.

The move is intended to strengthen the chain's position in the cafe and pastry market, and to expand the range of products it offers to both private and professional customers.

A central piece of news in the deal is the addition of the "Jacobs" bread production factory to the "Matuka" group's portfolio. This step will allow "Matuka" to enter the field of bread production for the first time. The factory's output is intended for dual distribution — both to customers in the professional market (including cafes, restaurants, and food businesses) and directly through the chain's branches.

In parallel with the acquisition of the brand, the group has already signed the first franchise agreement for the "Jacobs" brand to open a branch in Kiryat Ono, alongside another branch that is in the construction stages in Savyon.

The parent brand, the "Matuka" chain, is also continuing its growth momentum and is currently establishing new branches in the Azrieli Rakefot complex in Rishon LeZion, in Netanya, and also in Terminal 3 at Ben Gurion Airport.

Matuka has been operating for over 30 years, with its first cafe having opened in the picturesque Tel Aviv neighborhood of Neve Tzedek. Matuka was one of the pioneers in the patisserie field and quickly became the chain we know today.
