Arkia CEO celebrates in style: Launch of a new luxury aircraft
The Israeli airline took off last night for New York using a new Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner. The fleet expansion comes in response to growing demand at the peak of the summer season.

At the height of the summer season, as thousands of Israelis head abroad for their vacations, Arkia continues to upgrade its services. Last night, the airline launched operations with a Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner aircraft from the Italian company Neos. This addition is part of the airline's strategy to meet high demand during the summer months.
The new aircraft will join the fleet throughout August and September to bolster high-demand routes to New York, Paris, and Amsterdam, increasing seat capacity during the peak period. The aircraft features 345 spacious seats, a premium class alongside economy, and paid Wi-Fi service available throughout the flight.
To mark the aircraft's entry into service, Arkia held a festive ceremony at the gate before the inaugural flight to JFK International Airport. Arkia CEO Oz Berlovich and Neos Chief Commercial Officer Aldo Sarrantaro cut the ceremonial red ribbon, while all passengers received branded chocolates. The ceremony was also attended by Neos representatives, including Operations Manager Luca Campanti and ACMI Manager Micaela Barna.
In a further move to optimize service, Arkia appointed Mira Fizitzki yesterday as the company's new Director of Customer Experience and Service. Fizitzki will oversee the flight attendant department, service centers, and the airline's hospitality policy.
