Maccabi Haifa still cannot register its leading striker

The Greens have already registered eight foreign players with the Football Association. Andrija Novakovic, who recently recovered from a virus, cannot be registered even as a trialist in the Toto Cup as that status is given to Nigel Lonwijk. The club is looking for a new team for Peter Agba and does not plan to remove Pedrao.

Maccabi Haifa's new striker, Andrija Novakovic, will not be able to play in the Toto Cup classification matches unless Peter Agba is removed from the team's roster. As previously noted, Novakovic was not registered with the Football Association due to the limit on foreign players; Maccabi currently has eight foreign players registered, which means the Serbian striker cannot be added to the squad.

It has now emerged that the registration of Nigel Lonwijk prevents Novakovic from playing even as a trialist in the Toto Cup matches. The striker is expected to serve as Haifa's first-choice forward this season, and his inability to play hinders preparations for the league, as the Toto Cup matches were intended to help him regain his match fitness.

Haifa's goal is to find a new team for Agba, after which he will be removed from the squad. At the moment, there is no intention to remove Pedrao until a final decision is made on whether the Brazilian defender will remain in the squad or be released to make room for another foreign player in a different position.
