The graduation ceremony for new lawyers took place this evening, Tuesday, in Jerusalem. As is customary at such official events, various dignitaries took the stage to deliver formal speeches. Among the speakers was the President of the Supreme Court, Justice Isaac Amit, who managed to energize the crowd by quoting from the movie 'Legally Blonde'.

At the end of his address, Justice Amit chose to reference the iconic 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods, a young woman who enters Harvard Law School to impress her ex-boyfriend. Despite being underestimated by everyone around her, she proves them wrong and completes her studies with flying colors.

'On a lighter note to conclude: these days we are marking 25 years since the release of a film dealing with legal studies and their importance to life, and I am referring, of course, to the well-known film — 'Legally Blonde',' said Justice Amit, immediately receiving applause and cheers from the audience.

He continued:

'At the end of the film, the protagonist, Elle Woods, gives a speech at her graduation ceremony. She opens with a quote from Aristotle, who said that 'the law is reason free from passion.' To this, Elle responds — and I will paraphrase her words: with all due respect to Aristotle, passion is a key ingredient in learning, in legal practice, and in life itself.'

He further added from the final scene:

'She calls on her friends to remember three lessons for the road ahead: one, first impressions are not always correct. Two, you must always have faith in people. Three, most importantly — you must always believe in yourselves. I join these words and wish you great success on your new path.'
