Brigadier General (res.) Ilan Malka appointed acting head of the Civil Administration
Malka replaces Brigadier General Hisham Ibrahim, who was appointed military secretary to the Minister of Defense. The move follows the Chief of Staff's decision to limit senior appointments until 2027.
Brigadier General (res.) Ilan Malka, formerly commander of the Givati Brigade and Chief of Staff of the Central Command, has been appointed acting head of the Civil Administration. He replaces Brigadier General Hisham Ibrahim, who was appointed military secretary to the Minister of Defense. This was confirmed on Thursday.
The decision follows the Chief of Staff's policy to refrain from appointing senior officials until 2027.
Malka previously served as Deputy Commissioner of the Israel Prison Service and head of the headquarters division with the rank of Gonder, Chief of Staff of the Central Command with the rank of Brigadier General (res.), and commander of the Givati Brigade during Operation Cast Lead.
In June, Minister of Defense Israel Katz announced his decision to appoint Ibrahim as his military secretary. Throughout his career, Brigadier General Ibrahim, a member of the Druze community, held several senior positions, including Chief Armored Officer, commander of the 460th and 205th brigades, and deputy commander of the 91st Division.
As part of the selection process, the Minister of Defense interviewed several candidates. Israel Katz decided to appoint Ibrahim to the position following their meeting and based on the recommendation of the Chief of Staff.
