Barcelona acquires Belgian talent for 8.5 million euros: "A promising future"

Barcelona continues to invest in the future, announcing on Friday the signing of 18-year-old Club Brugge winger Jesse Bisiwu. The contract runs until the summer of 2031. According to reports, the Spanish champions paid 8.5 million euros for the transfer, while retaining a 20% sell-on clause for the Belgian club.

The club's official statement reads:

"With the arrival of Bisiwu, Barcelona has added a winger with a promising future, thanks to his speed, power, and dribbling ability. Born in Belgium on 22 January 2008, he has been a regular for Belgium's youth national teams. His name first made headlines at the 2025 U-17 European Championship, where he reached the semi-finals with Belgium and was named to the team of the tournament."

FC Barcelona and Club Brugge KV have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jesse Bisiwu, who signs with the Blaugrana until 30 June 2031.

Bisiwu began his career at Leuven before moving to Club Brugge in 2020. Over the past two seasons, he made 14 appearances in the UEFA Youth League, scoring three goals. For the reserve side, Club NXT, he recorded two goals in 36 appearances. He will be the third Belgian in the history of Barcelona's senior team, following Thomas Vermaelen and Fernand Goyvaerts.
