Dr. Edy Cohen warns: 'It's a trap – Hamas will not disarm'

During the 'Patriots' program on Channel 14, Dr. Edy Cohen responded to Donald Trump's announcement that an agreement had been reached for the complete disarmament of Hamas. Cohen expressed deep skepticism regarding the announcement, calling the move a 'trap' designed to secure aid and reconstruction for the Gaza Strip without the terrorist organization actually disarming.

Cohen emphasized that based on his historical experience, 'there is no terrorist organization that disarms voluntarily. There is no such thing, no such animal, I have not seen it.' He noted the single case of Ireland, but stressed that it was a completely different situation after centuries of fighting. According to him, the real test is on the ground, not in statements.

The panelist demanded to see concrete evidence of Hamas's disarmament:

'We want to see trucks of weapons on the ground. I want to see Hamas members handing over their weapons like the Kurds did in Syria.'

He added that 'we have already wised up' and cannot be fooled, emphasizing that Hamas is trying to use the apparent concession of power as a ploy to receive financial aid and reconstruction.

Dr. Cohen reiterated that it is a 'trap' and that Hamas is interested in the reconstruction of Gaza and financial aid.

'We want to see that he gives the weapons to an international body, in our eyes, we want to see and then we will start to believe,' he declared.

He expressed hope that Donald Trump 'did not fall into it,' this trap.
