Mossad Director dismisses architects of Iran regime change plan
The Mossad's operational plan for regime change in Iran has failed. Mossad Director Roman Gofman has decided to dismiss the head of the intelligence directorate and the head of the Iran division, who were responsible for the mission's planning.
Much has been said about the failure of the Mossad's operational plan in Iran, a mission intended to topple the Ayatollah regime with the support of minorities and install new leadership. This plan, at best, never got off the ground, and at worst, failed miserably. It has now emerged that the Mossad Director believes there are those responsible who must pay a price.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Mossad Director Roman Gofman has decided to dismiss two senior officials: the head of the intelligence directorate, who took office last December, and the head of the Iran division. Security sources indicate that there was no chemistry between them and Gofman from the outset, and that both tenures are ending by mutual agreement. While they may remain within the organization in other roles as part of a broader reorganization, the message is clear.
These are the officials who conceived and drafted the regime change plan. Although their contribution to national security is considered invaluable, Gofman believes they must be held accountable for the failure of the plan, which was presented to President Donald Trump but never implemented on the ground.
