Chief of Staff in the Gaza Strip: "We will not allow our enemies to build up - the IDF will not return to October 6"
Against the backdrop of the return of "kite terror" from the Strip, Eyal Zamir clarified that Israel remains committed to the demilitarization of Gaza and the dismantling of Hamas.
Chief of Staff Rav-Aluf Eyal Zamir toured the Gaza Strip today, accompanied by the Commander of the Southern Command, Aluf Yaniv Asor, the Commander of the Gaza Division, Tat-Aluf Liron Bettito, and various brigade and battalion commanders.
During the tour, Zamir emphasized that the IDF continues to prepare and remains alert on all fronts, acknowledging that the campaign is far from over. The commanders reviewed the operational situation and the ongoing activities of the forces in the area.
"In about a month and a half, we will mark three years since October 7. For three years, the IDF has been engaged in a complex and continuous multi-front campaign—in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and elsewhere," the Chief of Staff told the commanders. He reiterated that the pursuit of the October 7 terrorists is a long-term mission that will continue until every participant in the massacre is eliminated.
Addressing the strategic goals, Zamir clarified: "In Gaza, we are not giving up on our supreme goal—the demilitarization of the Strip and the dismantling of Hamas by all necessary means. We continue to act systematically to cause continuous damage to Hamas and its leaders, including a persistent campaign to prevent their military buildup."
He concluded with a clear message regarding security doctrine: "We have investigated and we are drawing lessons—the IDF will not return to the concepts we experienced on October 6. We will not allow the enemy to rebuild, we will not allow terrorist infrastructure to establish itself, and we will act at every opportunity to remove threats as they emerge."
