Chef and blogger Omer Miller recently caused a stir in Israel when he announced to his followers on social media that he had decided to move his life to Thailand together with his family. In a post he published on Instagram, he presented his new residence in the tourist destination, and in the photo, a huge villa stood out with a traditional Thai roof, huge glass windows overlooking the sea, a private pool, and a white beach full of palm trees.

Miller says that he and his wife decided to part ways with Israel for a while and move to live in Koh Phangan, Thailand, for a year. According to him, it is a year-long trip during which the children will receive home schooling. Against the backdrop of the criticism, the restaurateur emphasized that he and his family members will return to Israel to vote in the elections.

In an interview with the "Mako" website, the well-known chef noted that he refuses to publish recipes that are not based on a ketogenic diet. According to him, that firm decision led him to face economic consequences:

"I don't do it anymore. When they approach me now to do a TV show on Keshet, or to do consulting for restaurants, if it's not ketogenic, or at least doesn't meet my definitions for proper nutrition, I don't agree to take it. I canceled contracts worth hundreds of thousands of shekels. There is a mission in what I do today. For two and a half to three years, I haven't been doing that."

Miller further added:

"I lost hundreds of thousands of shekels from this decision. I sat with my accountant, and we saw that I lost about 70% of the income I could have made on Instagram compared to previous years. Just Instagram contracts that I have been giving up on to this day."

According to him, this move, while significantly hurting his income, contributes to his image in the food and restaurant industry. "I am earning my integrity, which in my eyes today is much more important. When I advertise something, people buy. And they buy because they trust me. I am not willing to destroy my credibility. When I advertise pans, it will be a stainless steel pan. That's why I canceled a collaboration I had with Teflon pans, not ready! I only advertise what I truly believe in and what I use at home."
